What if my breath has a message?

What if every breath we take contains information from our higher selves?

What if when I breathe shallowly, I turn the volume down and cannot hear the messages?

What if when I am hesitant about a subject, I stop and take a few deep breaths which turns the volume up and allows my inner intellect to show me the best way to go and makes my path easier to see?

What if this is why meditation is so important?

What if they could help me?

What if there was someone in my life who could easily help me and make my life a lot a lot less worrisome with virtually no effort on their part but they chose not to do so?

What if I went around thinking dark, mean thoughts about how selfish they are and how they want it all for themselves and how Karma will catch up with them someday and no one will help them and blah, blah, blah?

What if one day I realized that they were great teachers for me and had made me stronger by holding back their assistance because if they had helped me I would still be depending on them today and now I am grateful for their strength in not helping which gave me my strength?

What if there are different ways of respect?

What if it is a sign of respect to look you in the eye when I am speaking with you? What if it is a sign of respect to not look you in the eye when we are speaking? What if it is a sign of friendship to shake your hand when I greet you? What if my culture disapproves of shaking hands? What if I am casually sitting on the floor? What if it is a sign of disrespect to show the sole of my foot to you? What if I gobble up all the delicious food on my plate trying to show how much I enjoyed the meal but my host is embarrassed that he did not feed me enough because that is what an empty plate means to his culture?

What if in this great big world, we are insulting and hurting the feelings of each other by our innocent lack of knowledge of the different cultures and traditions? What if instead of judging, we gave others the benefit of the doubt that they were doing their best with what they knew, as was I?

What if I own a landscape yard?

What if I own a landscape yard and a well-dressed customer comes in driving their new shiny car and purchases a product for one of their many rental properties?

What if they ask for the cheapest product and then still haggle more for the biggest discount?

What if they call later and say their order was short and want a refund of some money?

What if this is how they get through their life by scamming other people?

What if their order really was short and I give them the benefit of the doubt and refund their money and let the Universe shake out the details at a later time?

What if we listen in silence?

What if someone is sharing information we already know? Instead of interrupting them, what if we listen in silence and really hear what they are saying. Is this an opportunity to hear a deeper part of the story? Are they lonely and need to be listened to? Are they happy; is there joy in their voice we might miss if we interrupt?

What if we bless them?

When someone cuts us off in traffic, what if we bless them rather than show anger? What if we bless everyone we come in contact with whether they are kind to us or not so kind? What if we notice what type of difference that makes in our lives?

What if we imagine something nice?

What if this week we make a special effort to quietly notice something good in every person we encounter and even if we do not know them we “imagine” something nice?

What if I notice that you have the most beautiful eyes, you have amazing handwriting,
your choice of clothing and color is quite tasteful, your speaking voice is so soothing,
his loving actions with his children are a delight to watch, she is so kind to her mom and dad, her helpfulness is appreciated by her neighbors, his loving advice is empowering to all near him, what a great business mind she has, such patience with others, he is fortunate to speak two languages, her smile is contagious, he is able to cry which helps others to feel their feelings, he is such a hard working person, he has astonishing musical ability, she is so sweet and gentle with animals, you are doing the absolute best that you can.

What if we have an expiration date?

By Lynne Cory

15311751_sWhat if all of us had an invisible expiration date which we subconsciously knew?

What if we set this date before we came onto the planet by accomplishments achieved or a maximum pain level we would tolerate?

What if because of this date, some of our healthiest friends died young while others who had many serious illnesses or traumas throughout their lives or those who abused and neglected themselves lived a long, long life?

What if this was all perfect and pre-planned by us?

What if I was buying a hot dog?

By Lynne Cory

What if I was in a long line to buy a hot dog and the lady in front of me asked for mayonnaise and mustard only? What if the clerk put the mustard on first and the lady threw a fit because she wanted the mayonnaise on first? What if the clerk obliged her, without any comment or look, and threw the bun away and put the mayonnaise on first on the new bun?

What if this was the only control this lady could exercise over her life? What if she had to control every aspect of her outer life because her inner life was in turmoil and she was doing the best she could to hold on?

What if it was none of my business and I just enjoyed my own delicious hot dog and my own life?
