What if what the neighbor thought mattered “too” much?

What if I am living and raising my children so that my neighbors and friends will think well of me? What if I am shoving my child into college or sports so that I can be admired? What if I dress and drive and marry and live to please others? What if we all became our authentic selves and used our individual gifts to bless the planet?
